Biofuels Euphoria: Economic Opportunity or Another Ag Boom-Bust Cycle?"

Investment in ethanol plants in the Midwest has reached a fever pitch, corn prices are approaching
historic highs, and U.S. policymakers are becoming increasingly concerned about our dependence
on imported foreign petroleum from both economic and national security perspectives.

How will advances in cellulose technology affect DDGS utilization? What will a cellulose conversion plant
look like? How interchangeable are the process configurations for cellulose versus starch conversion?

Why WDGS and not DDGS for cattle feeding? Can animal agriculture in the US compete with ethanol for cereal grains?
Will cattle feeding come back to the Corn Belt? How do you manage manure with WDGS? Locating packing plants
 and cattle feeding operations.

This year's Friday morning session is composed of a panel of outstanding university and industry experts
who will share their thoughts on the economics of liquid fuels, technology in the pipeline for biofuels derived
from corn and other biomass sources, agribusiness industry investment strategies, and a Nebraska feedlot
manager’s experience feeding DDGS. Come prepared to listen, learn, and ask questions as together we
consider the research and investment choices for the Indiana seed industry.
